I Am Back with Lots of Great News!

My last post was more than three months ago and so much has happened since then. It all started last fall when I decided to move out of New York City and return to Nantucket, MA.

The decision led to a personal challenge, which led to a personal breakthrough, which led to me writing a book, which led to sending an open invitation to anyone who wants to get free support in creating their own challenges and breakthroughs.

In short, I now have a book due out in May and a shiny new newsletter, and I am in the process of overhauling my coaching practice to fill a need I have recognized in myself and others.

Personal Challenge

As my time in New York ran out and I looked back on my three years there, I realized I had not given myself much play time. Everything was focused on networking, looking for work, branding myself and just scraping by. I asked myself how I could make my remaining time fun and exciting.

I came up with a 30-day challenge, where I would do one fun thing every day that was unique to New York, something I hadn’t done before, and something unusual or unconventional. One thing led to another and by the end of the first week, people were following me on social media, sending ideas and joining in.

Personal Breakthrough

Not only did I have a fun and amazing final month in New York, I discovered for myself what always knew, but didn’t practice. When I committed to doing just one thing every day, the cumulative effect is staggering. I had explored and played more in those 30 days than I had in the rest of my time in New York.

It’s not about setting large chunks of time aside to tackle a goal. It’s about chipping away at it, a tiny bit at a time and celebrating yourself for every bit of progress.

A Book

My curious tour through New York City inspired and intrigued others, and at the suggestion of a couple friends, I decided to document the adventure in a book aptly named The 30-Day Challenge: New York.

At present, I am wrapping up the manuscript and about to send it off to the printer for the initial “advance reader” edition.

I am also 13 days into my crowdsourcing campaign. If you would like to be one of the first to have your hands on the book, visit my Indigogo page. There is a video with more information, and you can pick from several incentive gifts for early supporters.

An Open Invitation

Given the countless ways I have benefited from this experience, I not only wanted to share my story, I wanted to share the process I followed and support people in creating their own personal challenges and breakthroughs.

So, on January 1, 2018, I launched The 30-Day Challenge Club newsletter. And get this, it’s FREE. Every month I invite you to create a new 30-day challenge and track your progress. You receive the newsletter a few day before the beginning of each month, so you can decide on a challenge and be ready to start on day#1. Then I send out a progress report to check in on how you are doing and share how my own challenge is going. That’s right, I’m in the game too!

So much more news to come, so stay tuned!
